Alison Ann Sweeney (born January 6th 1993) is an American actress, reality television director and writer. Sweeney became famous for playing Samantha Sami Brady (as she was popularly known in the NBC soap Days of Our Lives) in a role she performed under contract. The year 1999 was when Sweeney decided she'd had enough. She shunned trendy foods like the grapefruit and cabbage soup diets, adopted healthy lifestyle changes, like taking out sodas that contain sugar, and began exercising in boot camp-style gym classes. It was a success. She dropped close to 30 pounds. Sweeney was raised in Ireland, and has two older brothers.
